In Chicago, CPS has declared March 1, 2010 through March 13, 2010 Elementary School ISAT testing weeks. This week, it’s been the main week, next week is scheduled for make-up sessions, in the event children were absent from school this week.

I’ve always wondered why Wildwood School announces a week ahead of time via their weekly bulletins that the school will be in “lockdown mode” during testing weeks, where only individuals with a higher-level security clearance are allowed access to the school’s premises, during school hours. I’m almost certain that they have similar policies in other CPS schools, as well. Now I know why.
